Mee Warren, CFA, CAIA, is a trader at Two Sigma Investments, LLC, a hedge fund with about $24 billion in assets under management and more than 650 employees. She joined the firm in 2003, following brief stints as an analyst at BNY Mellon and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
Warren’s primary responsibility is to trade for the core strategies of Two Sigma Investments and Two Sigma Advisors. She executes equities, futures/commodities, bonds, currencies, and derivatives. She leverages her expertise in markets & microstructure, liquidity sourcing, and automated trading algorithms to improve execution tactics, minimize slippage, increase capacity, and develop new strategies. In addition to her daily duties, she is involved in several business initiatives at the firm.
Warren is a member of a host of organizations outside of work related to professional development and networking, as well as volunteer causes. She is affiliated with the National Organization of Investment Professionals; the New York Society of Security Analysts; Women in Bonds Club; Women in ETFs; Financial Womens’ Association; and 100 Women in Hedge Funds. Ms. Warren is a trustee on the board of directors for Narcolepsy Network Inc., a national non-profit organization, and she mentors high-school students through the FWA.
Students of Murry Bergtraum High School in Lower Manhattan are mentored by Warren and other FWA mentors. MBHS has worked with FWA for more than 25 years, one of the longest-running programs in the NYC public school system. Many graduates of this program are the first in their family to complete high school and continue onto college. Since program inception, all MBHS Mentees have graduated on time and enrolled in college.
Skills taught during the program include one-on-one teaching conducted in person, by e-mail and phone; an online community that students and mentor facilitators can access at anytime; professional development and career readiness lessons; confidence building; SAT and PSAT prep classes; and how to behave in different business-related situations.
Warren holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, as well as the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. She graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management in 2001, with majors in finance, international business, insurance & risk management, and minors in East Asian Studies, Chinese and Latin.
Warren enjoys playing pool, poker, and spending time with her husband John along with their 18-year old dog in Manhattan.
