It would make sense that a millennial would create the iconic New Yorker style cartoon for the modern cartoon following. I myself have long been a fan of the wonderfully brilliant images since I was a child. They are simple and sophisticated in the wit being depicted in the image.

Welcome: The ‘millennials issues’ they must deal with today – Swiping Right, Shopping for BAE, Literally can’t even and an Immediate need for instant gratification.

Emmet Truxes’ cleverly thought-out cartoons speak volumes in the simplicity of his black and whites (some color), which take approximately two hours to create. I really enjoyed scrolling through his Instagram account: @BrooklynCartoons (which has over 26k followers) as I stumbled upon it.

“The ideas for the scenes and captions come from everyday observations — keeping my eyes and ears open — and a lot come from the wide range of conversations that happen when you hang out with friends over drinks. I’ve also done a lot of collaborations with the people behind a lot of hilarious meme accounts which are a ton of fun and really rewarding,” states Truxes.

Please take a look at some of his work below.
