Kate Finlayson, Managing Director of FICC Market Structure & Liquidity Strategy at J.P. Morgan found time to give us a brief perspective on her win at this year’s European Women in Finance Awards

What does winning your European Women in Finance Award mean to you?
Aside from feeling truly honoured to win the award, it reflects the increasing value placed on the market structure function in our industry. Being nominated for the award by a client made it that much more meaningful for me.

Is there a single achievement you are most proud of (and are prepared to share!)?
It would have to be my work in establishing the market structure function at J.P. Morgan, and working with an incredibly strong team of market structure specialists who love what they do.

What advice would you like to pass on to women considering entering the industry?
Prepare to be resilient, recognise your strengths and don’t be reticent to highlight your achievements.
