ON THE MOVE: BIDS Trading Hires Brian Hickey; Alex Grinfeld Joins Liquidnet

Brian Hickey has joined BIDS Trading as Senior Director of Product, based in Boston. Hickey is a global multi-asset trader, trading strategist and technologist with 25 years of experience in asset management and capital markets. Prior to joining BIDS Trading, he was Head of Product at LedgerEdge, a London based corporate bond trading platform. Before LedgerEdge, Hickey spent 14 years at State Street Global Advisors in multiple trading and strategy roles, including his last position as Head of Cross-Asset Electronic Trading. He started his career as a consultant at SSNC Technologies and Eze Software focused on electronic trading and investment management software.

Alex Grinfeld

Alex Grinfeld has joined Liquidnet as a co-head of its Americas futures division. He joins Liquidnet after 11 years at Morgan Stanley. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Grinfeld was a vice president at Goldman Sachs for futures and derivatives sales trading. He will co-head the rapidly growing futures business at Liquidnet in the Americas alongside Brian Cashin – hired from Bank of America – who joined Liquidnet in March 2022.

Hope Jarkowski

Broadridge Financial Solutions has appointed Hope Jarkowski as Chief Legal Officer, effective May 6, 2024. Jarkowski succeeds Keir Gumbs, who served as Chief Legal Officer until November 2023. Jarkowski will oversee Broadridge’s legal, compliance, regulatory, and government affairs. She will also serve as the primary legal advisor to senior management and the Board of Directors and will help lead Broadridge’s internal policy efforts. Additionally, she will serve on the Broadridge Foundation Board, Risk Committee, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Committee. Jarkowski joins Broadridge from the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), where she most recently served as General Counsel, providing legal counsel and regulatory strategy across the NYSE’s business segments.

Xceptor has appointed Strath Lanyon as its new Chief Client Success Officer (CCSO), effective April 15. Lanyon will have responsibility for the complete post-sale client journey to drive adoption, satisfaction, and retention. Reporting into CEO Michiel Verhoeven, Lanyon will join the Xceptor Executive Leadership Team and Board, while partnering with the rest of the business to elevate the company’s client engagement.

Appital has hired John Coules to the Appital business development team. A former HSBC high tough sales trader, Coules has over 30 years of experience in client-facing sales trading, equities and building relationships with a wide range of institutional investors, predominantly in the UK and Europe. He brings a deep understanding of how equity markets operate, having served as pan-European equities sales trader at HSBC for the last 17 years and at Lehman Brothers for 13 years before that.

BNY Mellon has appointed Shannon Hobbs as Chief People Officer. She will join the company on June 3, reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer, Robin Vince, and will be a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Hobbs joins BNY Mellon from GEICO, where she most recently served as Chief People Officer, overseeing all aspects of talent and people strategy including recruiting, diversity and inclusion, team engagement, leadership development, compensation and benefits, as well as internal/external communications and change management. Previously, she was Chief Human Resources Officer for American Century Investments.
