WASHINGTON, D.C.. – May 8, 2023 – AI Squared, the low-code AI integration platform company that makes it easy to integrate machine learning into web-based applications, today announced Michelle Bonat as its new Chief Technology Officer. In Bonat’s role, she will be responsible for all technology (software engineering, data science, AI Research), IT, and Product Management. She joins the company from JPMorgan Chase where she served as a CTO and AI executive at Chase, the world’s largest bank. In her new leadership role, Bonat led the tech team’s ChatGPT launch and will accelerate efforts to commercialize and scale the overall company offering.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michelle to our team as our new CTO,” said Benjamin Harvey, CEO of AI Squared. “Michelle’s expertise in AI will be invaluable as we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible and revolutionize the industry. Together, we will build a future where AI is not just a buzzword, but a transformative force for good and step change for organizations.”

While at JPMorgan Chase, Bonat led AI Innovation for Chase Bank Digital across 90 products for 60 million active users, as well as scaling data and AI solutions, and authored numerous patents in NLP, GraphML, and Neural Networks. She boasts a 20-year career in leadership roles across engineering, product and data science.  Previously at Oracle, Bonat oversaw global engineering and product for financial web applications that were deployed in 25 languages and 30 countries with a quality and customer focus. Her success at Oracle was anchored on developing a mature engineering organization designed for rapid scaling. Bonat also is a successful tech entrepreneur. She founded a FinTech company as the CEO and Chief Data Scientist, and led product roles for three companies that were acquired.

“I am excited to join AI Squared, an innovative and ambitious company that is poised to revolutionize the AI industry” said Bonat. “With a talented team and cutting-edge technology, we are well-positioned to make a significant impact in the field of AI and transform the way businesses operate. I look forward to working with the team to drive innovation and deliver game-changing solutions to our clients.”

One of Bonat’s first product releases upon joining the startup includes the AI Squared Community Extension leveraging ChatGPT. She led the charge to develop this technology leveraging the AI Squared platform, ChatGPT from OpenAI, which allows it to understand and respond to customer inquiries in real-time in a natural and conversational manner after receiving prompts from users. The open community extension enables enterprise users to deploy the plug-in to get quick insights on any website or web application to make informed business decisions, and is equally helpful to summarize news articles, answer follow-up questions, draft emails, and more. In fact, parts of this press release were written using ChatGPT.

“ChatGPT made a big splash this year, together with LLMs and generative AI in general. This release places AI Squared firmly in the center of “providing solutions leveraging these technologies for both community and enterprise users,” Bonat.

Bonat earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and an undergraduate degree, both from Northwestern University.

Within less than two years of launching, AI Squared has successfully secured contracts with the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, National Security Agency, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, US Department of Defense and the US Air Force, as well as a Philadelphia-based top financial services company. Backed by venture capital firms NEA and Ridgeline Ventures, AI Squared was also awarded four Small Business Innovation Research grants from the US Department of Defense for its breakthrough technology.
