TRADING UP: Weisberger to ViableMkts; BlackRock Vet Repasy Joins MarketAxess

David Weisberger, Viable Markets

David Weisberger joined ViableMkts as head of equities. Weisberger, a 33-year veteran of the trading markets, comes onboard after forming his own consultancy firm, Equam. Before this, he served as Managing Director at IHS Markit, RegOne Solutions, Two Sigma Securities and Lava Trading. He is a regulator market commentator and contributor to Traders Magazine.

Robert McHeffey has joined T0 in its Strategic Sales & Relationship Management group. McHeffey, a 31 veteran of the capital markets, comes from CAPIS where he was in sales and relationship management for two years. Before that, McHeffey was a Director in Sales covering non traditional products. Earlier in his career, he worked at Miletus Trading in algorithmic sales and trading, Newedge, Cowen and Co, ITG and Instinet.

Sterling Trading Tech appointed Ravi Jain as its new Director of Risk & Derivatives. Jain will manage STT’s Risk Product line as well as the LiveVol X platform, which STT recently acquired from the CBOE and renamed Sterling VolTrader.  Jain has 30 years of experience in options, quantitative trading and risk management across multiple asset classes and markets. He formerly ran the global FX and metals options trading desk for Republic National Bank and has more recently been involved in the enterprise risk area for several major banks including HSBC and BNY Mellon.

BlackRock’s global head of electronic trading, Bruce Repasy, has joined MarketAxess’ product management team. Repasy has been appointed global head of product engineering – a newly created role – and is charged with system design and implementation across the business. He reports to Kevin McPherson, global head of sales, and Nick Themelis, chief information officer at MarketAxess.

Jamil Nazarali, Citadel

OCC, the equity derivatives clearing organization, reported that Andrej Bolkovic, CEO of ABN AMRO Clearing Chicago LLC, and Jamil Nazarali, Head of Execution Services at Citadel Securities, have joined the board of directors as Member Directors. Bolkovic was appointed to fill a vacancy for a term ending in 2017 created by the departure of John Ruth. Nazarali was appointed to fill a vacancy created by the departure of George S. Fischer with a term ending in 2018.

Rosenblatt Securities has hired veteran media-industry analyst Alan Gould. Gould, a market veteran with more than 25 years with various sell-side and buy-side firms such as Brean Capital, ISI/Evercore, Natixis Bleichroeder, JP Morgan Investment Management and Furman Selz.

Former Citadel quantitative division chief James Yeh is returning to the Chicago-based money manager after a four-year break. Yeh will replace the unit’s current head, Jonathan Graham, who is retiring from the $26 billion hedge fund manager and plans to take a break from finance, according to the company. Graham, who replaced Yeh in 2013, will reportedly leave after a transition period of a few weeks. Now back at the company, Yeh will not only have responsibility for his old quant division, but also quantitative research and Citadel’s global trading groups.

Vishal Pandya joined FlexTrade as as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this newly created position, Pandya will serve as a member of FlexTrade’s executive leadership team and have overall responsibility for the performance and development of the company. Pandya spent the last eight years at Hewlett Packard Enterprise where, most recently, he was Vice President, Operational Performance (Office of the COO), and worked closely with the CEO and COO to define a comprehensive operating plan and execute priority initiatives. Prior to joining Hewlett Packard, Pandya spent seven years as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he served clients in the financial services and industrial verticals on topics ranging from strategy, sales and marketing, and operational improvements. He reports to said Vijay Kedia, President and CEO of FlexTrade.

Axioma, a provider of enterprise market risk and portfolio management solutions, appointed Jacqueline Gaillard as Managing Director, People & Talent. Gaillard was previously Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Talent Management at International Securities Exchange (ISE), the first all-electronic U.S. options exchange. Earlier in her career she was Vice President Human Resources at Reed Business Information, after holding a number of HR positions in the fashion apparel industry.
