Salient Selects Archer for Consolidated SMA Accounts

09.16.2016

Salient – Berwyn, PA – Archer®, a technology and services innovator for the investment management industry, today announced that Salient, a diversified asset management firm and leading provider of alternative and real asset investment strategies, has selected Archer to service its consolidated book of retail SMA portfolios.
“Having all of our SMA portfolios on a single system with real-time access to portfolio and trade information will help reduce both cost and risk,” said Rob Naka, Salient’s chief operating officer. “This platform provides a strong foundation and scalability as Salient continues to grow.”
Salient completed its purchase of Forward Management, LLC (“Forward”) in June 2015, including its separately managed accounts. By converting to Archer from its legacy software, Salient’s multiple portfolio management teams will benefit from a cloud-based solution – synchronizing operations regardless of geographic location.
Archer began providing technology for Forward’s separately managed accounts in 2007. The firm deepened its relationship with Archer by adding full outsourcing services in 2013, helping Forward align their costs with their growth. Following the Forward acquisition, Salient recognized Archer’s ability to unify their operations across multiple investment management groups handling multiple asset classes. The advantages of web-delivered technology along with outsourced services’ predictable costs both enable the firm’s growth and improve margins.
“I am personally thrilled to see a firm like Salient recognize how Archer’s total solution can empower their growth trajectory while improving their bottom line,” said Bryan Dori, Archer CEO. “The strong partnership we have developed is a testament to how Archer goes beyond merely providing a service, and helps find the best solution to enable growth.”
The Archer technology platform supports investment management operations with end-to-end integration of proprietary order life cycle management, monitoring and reporting tools including performance measurement, and workflow management such as document storage and staging. Archer’s operations solution allows for the selective outsourcing of investment management support for institutional, private wealth, and retail accounts.
