01.17.2018

The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA), the world’s largest open-source blockchain initiative, announced the appointment of its first Executive Director today. Ron Resnick assumes his leadership position at the over 200-member organization immediately and will host an EEA event during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on January 23, 2018 from 17:30 pm – 19:30 pm. Resnick was instrumental in the successful rollout of 4G wireless broadband as President and Chairman of the Board of the WiMAX Forum. Most recently, he led the AirFuel Alliance as its President and Chairman.

“4G wireless broadband changed the world. We believe blockchains will have a similar impact on society. Ron’s task as our first Executive Director is to build-out the organization, engage with members and foster the continued development of technical content,” said Julio Faura, chairman of the board, EEA. “EEA’s explosive growth in less than a year has mirrored many organizations’ increasing interest in and deployment of enterprise blockchains. Ron has the experience and background to guide EEA through this period of rapid growth and expansion.”

Resnick is a business development professional with over 25 years of experience growing high technology businesses and their ecosystems. He has a unique combination of executive, technical, financial and business development experience.

Before joining EEA, he served as President and Chairman of the Air Fuel Alliance. The Air Fuel Alliance was formed by the merger of Alliance for Wireless Power and Power Matters Alliance and is a leading global authority on wireless power technology and standards. Resnick also served as President of the Power Matters Alliance and President and Chairman of the Board of the WiMax Forum. He spent a decade at Intel in senior positions in capital investment and business development including launching and managing Intel’s Broadband Wireless business delivering one of the first 4G broadband modems. Resnick is a former U.S. Air Force pilot and a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

“My focus is to drive the further development of Ethereum-based technology best practices, open standards and open-source reference architectures to evolve Ethereum into an enterprise-grade technology,” said Resnick. “EEA has the critical mass of companies – both established and startup – from every region of the world and 17 vendor-lead, industry-specific application layer working groups and committees to get the work done and increase the adoption of Ethereum technology in the enterprise.”
